Dr. David Ndeereh, PhD, HSC.

Deputy Director Research

Dr. Ndeereh Is a veterinary surgeon with more than 23 years successful background in wildlife veterinary practice and research. He possesses an MSc and PhD degrees in Veterinary Clinical Studies from the University of Nairobi. He started his career as a Field Veterinary Officer at the KWS headquarters in Nairobi before he was posted to the Tsavo Conservation Area to start the first Mobile Veterinary Clinic for KWS. He rose through the ranks to Head the Tsavo Research Centre, and the Departments of Captive Wildlife Management and Veterinary Services before he was deployed on 1st July 2021 to WRTI to assist in its operationalization and to head the newly created Research Division.  He is highly published with over 30 scientific publications and numerous scientific presentations in conferences and workshops. He was conferred an award of appreciation by Government in 2009 for his contribution towards achieving ‘Freedom from Rinderpest’ status for Kenya.

 

Dr. Ndeereh’s goal is to accept new challenges as an avenue of enhancing his career and thereby dedicating himself to enhancing conservation and management of our wildlife heritage as well as to be a dynamic team player committed to contributing to the WRTI’s vision and mission.
